    Great Job on Building this fire, but One important thing you need to remember is to clear the area around the base because if the wind picks up you don’t want to set the rest of the woods on fire.

    dig a hole a foot …
    dig a hole a foot or so deep(prbly 2´). dig a fist sized hole down to the bottom of the larger hole so air can feed the fire.

    In all my years camping I have never got a fire to last more than about 3-4 hours through the night without having to add more fuel. If I was to scale up the logs on the bottom I guess I could have a fire burning all night. Its something I am going to try. Excellent advice as always Paul.
